A good option for wider feet, bunions, swollen feet and sensitive toes
Hector from DB Shoes is a great choice for men looking for an extra wide fitting trainer with plenty of room for their feet. Available in the generous 6V (6E-8E) width fitting, Hector combines a sporty, casual appearance with the extra width and depth needed for wider feet, bunions or swollen feet.
One of the best features of Hector is the combination of adjustable laces and a handy inside zip. The laces allow you to adjust the fit to suit your feet, particularly useful if you have a high instep or experience swelling, while the zip makes the trainers much easier to put on and take off without having to undo the laces each time.
Hector also has a deep, rounded toe box which provides plenty of room for your toes to spread naturally, helping to reduce pressure and rubbing around sensitive areas. The leather and textile lining adds to the overall comfort, making these a practical choice for everyday wear.
Another useful feature is the removable leather insole, along with an additional 5mm foam insole supplied with the shoes. These allow you to adjust the depth and cushioning to suit your needs, or remove the insoles to accommodate your own orthotics. This makes Hector particularly versatile for men who need extra depth as well as extra width in their footwear.
With their comfortable, cushioned design, adjustable fastening and generous extra wide fit, Hector is an excellent everyday trainer for men who find standard width footwear too restrictive.

This model is a 6V width fitting.

A 6V fitting is an extra-wide fitting, and one of our widest. This fitting offers lots of width and extra depth in the toe area.
A 6V fitting means the fit can be adjusted to increase the depth of the shoe, increasing it from a 6E to an 8E fitting.
Additional depth in a shoe is important for conditions such as hammertoes, bunions, gout and swelling as it stops toes rubbing against the top of the shoe which can cause irritation and discomfort.
A variable fit is recommended for those who may need to adjust the fit over the day or are recovering from a procedure where the foot is swollen as the fit can be reduced as the swelling recedes.
These width fittings are not available on the high street, even at well known wide fitting shops.
